political.fit ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Data We Collect
When you take the quiz:
- Your answers to the 45 quiz questions
- Your calculated political compass scores
When you purchase results:
- Email address (collected by Stripe during checkout)
- Payment confirmation (we do not store credit card details)
What we do NOT collect:
- IP addresses
- Device information or fingerprints
- Browsing history
- Cookies for tracking (only essential session cookies)
How We Use Your Data
- To calculate and display your political compass results
- To send you a private link to access your results
- To show anonymous aggregate statistics (how you compare to others)
We do NOT use your data for marketing, advertising, or sell it to third parties. Ever.
Data Security
- In Transit: All data is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS 1.3)
- At Rest: Database encryption enabled
- Access Tokens: Cryptographically secure UUIDs (not guessable sequential IDs)
Data Retention
- Completed quiz results with payment: Retained indefinitely for your access
- Incomplete quiz sessions without payment: Automatically deleted after 30 days
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@political.fit. We will delete all data associated with your email address within 30 days.
Third-Party Services
- Stripe: Processes payments. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
- Mailgun: Sends transactional emails. See Mailgun's Privacy Policy
Shared Results
If you choose to share your results using the share link, only your political compass scores are visible. Your email address is never exposed.
